There are techniques to maximize the power of sports for youth development but those are not well-known, not applied and shared by coaches and educators, nor used to translate the language of sports into the language of life.
It’s not only the efficacy of a program, it’s the educational value of it. There is a great need for institutional and pedagogical intentionality. Sports organizations focused on the community are important to create a suitable environment for kids. Education through sports can raise awareness of various issues like human rights. It’s not only a matter of teaching skills, but also the need to teach equality within community, human values and social inclusion. Also, a sports club should establish a solid connection with local organizations to spread the values of sports and share their practices. The coach is not only teaching a sport, he/she must have an education intentionality to better personal and psychological development. A coach should teach children how to be resilient and disciplined and about the value of self-respect.
Education through sports in some societies can help people break out of poverty. Through sports like football, some children can find scholarships for schooling and have an effective education in order to fight unemployment and be financially independent. It’s important for every child to be placed in proper education in order to be able to stand on their own feet. It’s also important to develop programs that integrate the principles of sports with education to create an engaging environment and inclusive environment that will help students to thrive in their work in the classroom or on the field. Children can acquire skills for work, equity, and sustainable development.
The most effective way to educate through sports is to understand and listen to their needs in order to improve their personal skills and to enhance and develop their talent. A coach should be passionate about his work and help kids to reach their dreams and achieve an internal development.
“When I become a better human being, I become a better soccer player”
Education through sports can help children to become protagonists of their lives. Sometimes our minds can’t solve the problems that emerge, but on the field, we can solve our problems. Becoming the best can be achieved through the process of learning about different cultures. How we use sports will determine if it will have positive or negative outcomes. Everything we do is based on educational theory to learn about society andculture and develop the concept of choice andanalyze solutions, and that’s a big skillset. Players should learn about the value of education. The longer we stay in school the more educated we become and the more opportunities and chances we have. Education is an investment for the future.
